Shooting Panoramas on Film #2
This post was supposed to features pictures taken with a very special panaroma camera, using a very good lens, on 35mm film. However, due to some unforeseen technical issues with this camera, I am waiting for a replacement for it. Meanwhile, I’ve shot another film using the Lomo Sprocket Rocket, this time using the full width of the film, including the sprocket areas. Like in the first round, I’ve used Lomography’s Color Negative 400 film.
The conditions this time were much more challenging - it was a bright day, and it had snowed a couple of days before, so most shots were completely overexposed because of the camera’s relatively slow shutter speed. Some of the overexposure could be pulled back in Negative Lab Pro and Lightroom, but I only now see that the first picture is actually a double exposure.
One of the last shots of that morning walk in turned out quite OK, even if the subjec isn’t that great.
In short, I do like the charme of the images but will consider using a slower film in similar conditions next time (some forgiving film stock like a Kodak Gold 200). Meanwhile I keep wondering what a decent lens could do this camera (or what a functioning camera with a really good lens would be like).
